Impression Procedures In Everyday Prosthetic Treatment
November 23 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Officially Delta Dent Academy in cooperation with Dentsply Sirona are organizing 1 day workshop/hands on about impression procedures in everyday prosthetic treatment. The hands on will take place in 23 November 2024 at the premises of Delta Dent Academy and will be leaded by Prof. Phd. Nikša Dulĉić, professor at the Department of Removable Prosthodontics of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb.
Brief Content of the Course
In everyday clinical practice, loss of one, several or all teeth is replaced by fabrication of fixed, mobile and combined prosthetic appliances. The success of prosthetic treatment on teeth, implants and/or mucosa is achieved through the synergy of knowledge, techniques and different materials. Taking impressions is one of the most important steps in prosthetic restoration fabrication. Precise impressions are vital for transferring the status from the patient mouth to the dental laboratory, and precise diagnostic and working models enable dental technicians to fabricate precise and longlasting prosthetic restorations to the satisfaction of both the patient and the dentist.
This course consists of a theoretical and practical part.
In the theoretical part participants will learn about products of the Zhermack company and impression materials – alginate, Hydrorise product line, Elite Cord retraction sutures and
Zeta 7 impression disinfectants. Different techniques for taking impressions for different types of prosthetic restorations will be described as well. In the practical part participants will simulate various clinical situations during prosthetic restoration fabrication on demonstration plastic models. Each participant will take an impression with alginate Hidrogum 5 (Zhermack) as a simulation of impression of the opposite jaw, and a single-step and double-step impression with Hydrorise (Zhermack) as a simulation of a fixed prosthetic appliance fabrication.
